Traders Point Creamery is an organic, 100% grass-fed dairy farm and artisan creamery in central Indiana. Opened as a family-owned farm in 2003, it became the state’s first USDA-certified organic dairy farm. It now produces glass-bottled and -packaged dairy products such as milk, drinkable yogurts, cheese, cottage cheese and ice cream (our personal favorite is the Dutch chocolate milk). To achieve great quality, Traders Point Creamery maintains a herd of around 100 Brown Swiss cows and milks 50–60 each day. The herd feeds on pastures with a rotational grazing system that creates fertile, well-nourished soil to help produce milk rich in omega-3 fatty acids, conjugated linoleic acids (CLA) and key vitamins. The cows never feed on grain or corn and are not exposed to synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, hormones or antibiotics. Traders Point Creamery also partners with nine other Indiana farms that supply milk using the same techniques.
